Hello friends,
Your relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ should top your priority in life. And when it comes to choosing between your relationship and your closer walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, then it should not be difficult for you to take side with Him. (that is if you value Him more than any other thing in this world!)
The Infinite God
We can do without quite a number of things in this life, but we cannot do without God. His breathe is in us. The Bible says,"Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Genesis 2:7 NIV.
Can you imagine a fish living outside of water? The fish would be dead without it being in water!The same goes for us too, that we cannot live a meaningful life outside the Lord Jesus Christ!
Watch Your Relationship
This is actually why i am writing this article, but had to lay some form of foundation for it.
Relationships with the opposite sex should draw us closer to the Lord Jesus Christ, and not closer to sin. The Bible gave us an admonition in Proverbs 1:10,and it says," My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!" (NLT )
The Bible is saying here that no matter the level of relationships, and in this case courtship, we should not accede to doing the wrong things so as to please our partner. Our ultimate goal should be pleasing God above self.
Don't ever compromise your faith in Christ to keep your partner, because it would be counter-productive and detrimental to your soul! God is much more important!
Mind The Company You Keep
Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character. Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning...(1 Corinthians 15:33,34 NIV)
On a last note, ensure you don't travel on the same road with the wrong people.Guard your relationship with God jealously.
