Marriage is not a cultural thing, but a scriptural thing!
God is the originator of the first marriage. In Genesis 2:18, the Bible says, "Now it is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him." AMPLIFIED BIBLE VERSION.
So if God is the ONE who created marriage for a purpose, then it pays to go by His dictates as recorded in His Word.
Unfortunately, many including Christian Singles who should know better don't pay attention and the end of such negligence is always disastrous.
Pray this prayer sincerely,...
Father, I desire to do Your will; i exchange my foolishness for Your enduring wisdom and my weakness for Your uncommon strength as it borders on every areas of my life, particularly choosing the right marriage partner in Jesus name.
Christian teaching on marriage can only be accepted and practised by faith. For without faith, none can please God (Hebrews 11:6). Whenever the teaching of the Word of God on marriage is neglected or modified, much trouble ensues. The Bible says, "Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. " Psalms 119:165, AMPLIFIED BIBLE VERSION
A lot of Christian Singles are afraid to venture into courtship or relationship talkless of marriage. So many are scared because of past experiences of failed relationships.
For some, they take a cue from their parents, guardians, or relations failed marriages thereby concluding albeit erroneously that there is nothing good in marriage.
The Bible says that everything that God created is good (Genesis 1:31). Also, in James 1:17, the scriptures say that every GOOD and PERFECT gift come from God and that includes marriage.
The major thing that has brought problem to the marriage institution is sin. The Bible says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Son came into the the life of man and erased the glory and beauty God had embedded in marriage.
Hence, if one wants the best of the best in marriage, then that fellow must return back to God by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her personal Saviour; and have a relationship with Him first.
Stay blessed and prosperous in Christ Jesus!
